Welcome to New-U
You can swap or shop in New-U; a unique boutique style shop in central Norwich, offering quality pre-loved clothing and accessories for the whole family. New-U is a registered charity (1186761), with two primary aims:
- To support unemployed young people to make positive steps towards work or training
- To promote a sustainable approach to fashion by swapping clothes in our Norwich store and by selling online.
Bring in your pre-loved or unworn items and exchange them for swap points for 50% discount off anything in store, for example a top priced at 8 swap points will cost you 4 swap points and £2 cash or card. Without swap points the same top would be £4.
Thanks to all our North Norfolk customers for your support. Our Cromer shop is now closed but you can spend any unused points in our Norwich shop or pop up events throughout Norfolk.
Support young people, declutter your wardrobe, protect the planet and feel good in new to you clothing!

Workshops & Work Placements
Long term unemployed people face numerous barriers to gaining employment which often cannot be overcome without intervention geared to the individual and their specific needs. We offer individualised work experience placements to unemployed young people in our Norwich store. Our flexible and supportive environment is designed to help them gain the confidence to progress towards work, education, or volunteering.
Every year New-U will:
• Put 36,000 items of clothing back in circulation as wearable items
• Saving 10 billion litres of water
• Reducing carbon emissions by 15 million tonnes
• Encourage 2,000 people to participate in swapping clothes for the first time
• Enable 8,000 people to continue swapping clothing & accessories
We are making sustainable living a more achievable goal; easily extending the garment’s active use for 9 months or more. We champion the ethos that “The most sustainable garment is the one we already own.” Extending the active life of 50% of UK clothing by nine months would save: 8% carbon, 10% water, 4% waste per metric ton of clothing, according to WRAP’s Valuing Our Clothes report.
