We’re committed to reducing textile waste by giving clothes a second life through creative, hands-on upcycling. Using clothing that’s no longer wearable, we run welcoming sessions that are open to all ages, skill levels, and experiences—offering a chance to slow down, connect, and make something new.
We host regular free sessions in Norwich and Cromer, attend community outreach events, and offer private group workshops for organisations, schools, or social groups.
Upcycling Craft Sessions
New-U runs regular, free upcycling activities in Norwich and Cromer. Everyone is welcome to come along, meet new people and learn new skills. We make a range of items including rag rugs, wreaths, T-Shirt yarn, fabric decorations, and other craft items using pre-loved clothing and textiles.
When & Where:
- Cromer Community Centre – Friendship Hub
Every Wednesday and Friday, 10:00–12:30 - Honesty Library, Level 2, Castle Quarter, Norwich
See our What’s On page for upcoming dates and times

There is no need to pre-book, just pop in and join us. We provide all the materials and tools needed. Thanks to support from our partners and funders activities are usually free, however New-U is a charity so donations are appreciated.
Outreach Activities
As well as hosting regular upcycling sessions, New-U also takes part in community events and delivers private group workshops across Norfolk. If you’d like us to attend your event, please get in touch at laura@new-ultd.co.uk. We’re passionate about community outreach, though we may ask for a donation to help cover staffing costs.
To book a private upcycling workshop, please complete our simple booking form or contact hello@new-ultd.co.uk for more information.
